I’ve painted a few Hasslefree Miniatures in my time, and one recurring theme with every one is how crisp and clean and beautifully detailed Kev White’s sculpting is. This makes them perfect for pushing your blending skills, or in my case continuing my journey into the realms of ‘The Loaded Brush’ wet on wet blending.
Driving back from my local GW after a Saturday spent painting Imperial Fists and Tracy asked me “Did you post up the photos of Vulkan yet?” and it suddenly dawned on me that despite finishing him over a month ago I had yet to share him here! How very remiss of me! I had mentioned … More Vulkan Lives!
Sounds a little bit like an undiscovered work of Tolkien, or maybe the next Harry Potter spin-off but is in fact my journey through a series of painting videos and the resulting miniature that was my creation. In this post I want to share the pictures of the Bust, but also some of my thoughts about … More Thorag the Savage and the Loaded Brush
The guys at Ax Faction are at Figureworld in Oundle this weekend and they have a new release to coincide with the event. Cue stage left, Nemesis a classic, incense swinging, scythe wielding, evil necromantic type.
So 2015 has started with a bang… have a few finished pieces posted already this year and a few other bits already on the workbench. So far though, my previous posts have been about miniatures I have painted in a really quick time, but this bust has taken considerably longer (I first posted about this … More Uncle John by Infamy Miniatures is complete!
Some of you may have seen this guys progress over on Facebook, but now that he is done, I wanted to share him here too! This is one of Nurgle’s Putrid Blightkings painted over the course of a week (Saturday to Saturday with my day job in between) using the same mindset that I learnt … More Putrid Blightking – painted in a week…!
I know I have mentioned the Massive Voodoo class, but what I haven’t done yet, is show you some decent photos of the miniature that I managed to paint over the weekend. So this is the Massive Voodoo Daemonette, the culmination of 2 1/2 days of crazy painting… enjoy! (I certainly did!)
So my next miniature for Ax Faction, Lacerta Lizardman Hunter, is now complete and I am able to publish the photos! This one was an absolute joy to paint – especially all the details from the artwork like the striped top and the straps in her hair. I rather enjoyed painting the monolith on her base … More Lacerta Lizardman Hunter by Ax faction
The next miniature I have painted for Ax Faction is the Ogre Dominator. This bad-boy is another pretty unique piece by these guys, and I really liked the concept the moment I saw it.
The step-by step of the Gilded Saint is now complete! So the mammoth project of documenting and photographing every stage in a paint-job has drawn to a close, and I can now share the finished photos.
